Arthritis is a chronic disease affecting an estimated 43 million U.S. adults and is the leading cause of disability in the United States.  Dr. Nussbaum will discuss exercise recommendations for people diagnosed with Rheumatoid (RA) and Osteoarthritis (OA).  Modes of exercise, program guidelines and specific examples will be discussed.  Various treatment options will be reviewed and exercise prescription will be explored in detail.

Urinary Incontinence affects over 13 million people the United States.  While not gender specific, it does affect women more than men, particularly those women who have had children.  There are 2 basic classifications of incontinence, urge and stress.  Urge (UI) is often manifested by the sudden need to urinate with little time to wait, brought on by running water, turning a doorknob, or seeing a bathroom.  Stress (UI) is brought on by coughing, laughing, or sneezing, where the sudden pressure cannot be overcome.  In this informative lecture, Dr. Nussbaum will discuss many treatment options including Physical Therapy, utilizing exercise to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.
