Ralph K. Garcia
Physical Therapy Supervisor

Dr. Garcia has worked for ProHealth and Fitness since May 2008. He has worked previously at NYU Medical Center at The Rusk Institute in the inpatient and outpatient units. He has also provided physical therapy services to recipients of organ transplants after end stage liver and renal disease at Presbyterian Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Garcia graduated in 1989 with a Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) degree from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (formerly the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science). In 1997, Dr. Garcia completed his PhD in Pathokinesiology from New York University. During his graduate studies at NYU, he was a recipient of a National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) Physical Therapy Research Training Grant and was a senior research assistant in the Human Performance Lab.

Dr. Garcia has been a faculty member at Touro College, Temple University, Florida International University, and Stony Brook University over the last 12 years. He has published several research abstracts and articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has presented research studies at several state, national, and international physical therapy conferences.

Dr. Garcia was a recent recipient of the New York Physical Therapy Association Robert Salant Award for Outstanding Abstract in the Clinical Research for his study titled “The Reliability and Validity of a New Measure of Dynamic Balance: The Stepping-In-Place Test” September 2008.

Dr. Garcia is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Touro College, and is the Physical Therapy Supervisor at ProHealth & Fitness overseeing 20 clinicians and numerous research initiatives.
